THEATRE EXPLORATION
PreK and their
Parents- Fairytale Theatre (1 hour session for 8 weeks with an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase performance)
Under the direction of an experienced and educated instructor, the class will focus on social
and artistic development through creativity, vocalization, and movement using stories, nursery rhymes, improvisation, and
theatre games. Children will delight, as they become a character in their very own fairy tale. In this class, children will
explore the world of Performing Arts as they discover the creativity inside of them. They will read, discuss, create and
perform their own fairytale inspired by other classic tales. They will act, move and sometimes sing as they present a very
special performance in our Fairytale Theater for the young performer. Students will present their play at the end of the
8-week course in an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase performance. - Fairytale Theatre (1 hour session for 8 weeks with an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase
performance)

nursery rhymes, improvisation, and theatre games. Children will fill with delight, as they become a character in their a story
they read in the course. In this class, children will explore the world of Performing Arts as they discover the creativity
inside of them. They will read, discuss, create and perform their own fairytale inspired by one of three read in class. They
will act, move and sometimes sing as they present a very special performance in the world of AHG’s Treasure Trunk. Students
will present their play at the end of the 8-week course in an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase performance.
Grades K through 1 - Acting Adventures (1.25 hour session for 8 weeks with an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase performance)
Under the direction of an experienced and educated instructor, the class will focus on social
and artistic development through creativity, vocalization, and movement using classic and current children’s literature,
nursery rhymes, improvisation, and theatre games. Children will fill with delight, as they become a character in the very
stories they read in the course. In this class, children will explore the world of Performing Arts as they discover the creativity
inside of them. They will read, discuss, create and perform their own fairytale inspired by a classic tale read in class.
They will act, move and sometimes sing as they present a very special performance in the world of AHG’s Acting Adventures.
Students will present their play at the end of the 8-week course in an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase performance.
Grades 2 through 5 - Play Your Part (1.5 - 2 hour session for 8 weeks with an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase
performance)
Under the
direction of an experienced and educated instructor, the class will focus on social and artistic development through creativity,
vocalization, and movement using a scripted scene from a contemporary play. Students will gain an understanding of a rehearsal
and performance schedule. Through the development of characters, location and scene work the young people will explore the
world of Performing Arts as they discover the creativity inside of them. They will read, discuss, create and perform their
own contemporary scene. Students will present their scenes at the end of the 8-week course in an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase
performance.
- Theatre Create (2
- 2.5 hour session for 8 weeks with an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase performance)
Under the
direction of an experienced and educated instructor, students will develop their stage presence, and explore creative dramatics
and story drama. Through creative dramatics and story drama, students will gain the skills needed to develop, rehearse &
present an original play and experience working in a collaborative environment. In this course designed to introduce theater,
students will create a story complete with characters and simple story lines by capturing the natural energy and imagination
of the students in the course. Students will learn the Theater Terms, Story Plot Development, Character Interaction, and fully
participate in the Staging of their production. The staging of this play will include the use of props and costumes. Students
will present their play at the end of the 8-week course in an AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase performance. Grades 6 through 12 - Acting Studio (2 - 2.5 hour session for 8 weeks with AHG Theatre Exploration Showcase performance)
Under the
direction of an experienced and educated instructor, the class will focus on social and artistic development through creativity,
vocalization, and movement using a scripted scene from a contemporary play. Students will gain an understanding of a rehearsal
